$1150 is insane, but they have skyrocketed in price. They seem to go for $500 to $700 in great condition with a great cart.

That seems a little crazy but that's retail price for a brand new one.

I only pai.. well the previous owner gave me a 1200 I think its an early early mark two its a dual voltage model too from overseas. After sitting in the floor of a Florida home for 20 years corrosion in places etc plugged it in hit play and it works amazing its my main turntable I bought a new dust cover it looks great

I would much rather buy a used one for really cheap then buy a brand new one cause these prices are just insane. Then again people are more fortunate then I am with the funds to actually purchase one

and if you have the coin buy one of those gold edition mk2s as they were never used to dj really

It's a 1210.

What's the difference between a 1210 and a 1200?

I also disagree that it's brand new. Part of the "brand new" experience that you pay for is that YOU get to break the factory seal and be the first to open the box. IMO, it's worth no more than the nicest complete used example.

Unfortunately, we just had this exact same situation in another D&S thread, with a bad outcome for the AK member who was the seller. He had an NIB item in what appeared to be a sealed box. He sold it without opening it. When the buyer got it, it was a different model, and not new.

When selling something like the turntable above, the buyer has to be comfortable that he knows what he's getting, and the seller has to be comfortable that he's advertising what's actually in the box, and not a used table with an extra neat retaping job. What sellers frequently do is to photograph every step of the tape being cut. I've also seen sellers video the entire process and post a link to the video so that prospective buyers can see the box being opened.

Better safe than sorry, from both the seller's and buyer's perspective. If the opening is well documented with pictures and/or video, the value should not be compromised.

Exactly I couldn't have said it better myself. Now if you were too purchase it from a reputable seller and it was nos there's a difference i suppose
