Folks:

The April SMAC meet/fest will be held at two locations: at Don's place on Saturday, April 30th from 1-6pm and at Gary's apartment on Sunday, May 1 from 1pm-6pm. Details in my email.

Please be aware of a couple things: parking at Don's is limited (car pool if you can) and Gary's place is very small so we will set up the velvet rope outside policed by a couple of our meaner members.;-) Seriously though - if anyone has folding chairs they could bring to Gary's that would be great!

Let's make it a SMAC Fest!! Hope to see you all there.

Hey Don, you got any speakers that a new single ended amp design could power?
(Conservative amp power rating, say 8w)
 
Hi - Yes, I think the Electro-Voice 3-ways in the living room will handle that fine. (They are hooked up to a Fisher 500-C at the moment, but that can be changed.) It would be great to hear what they can do with a low power amp, or what the amp can do with efficient speakers. (Bob Crites thought they were somewhere around 100dB.)
 
I apologize in advance that I will not be able to attend this weekend. I am driving down to Toledo tomorrow to pick up my new-to-me Fairchild turntable (I'm still in shock over that one) from a fellow AK member, and then I am off to Akron for a karate tournament on Sunday morning. Please give my regards to all, and my sincere apologies for missing this one - sounds like a real blast.

Thanks, and I promise to do so! I'm in no hurry, life is good, taking the back roads once I get out of Toledo. Got a couple covered bridges and some waterfalls I want to take photos of...

For everyone who has not been to Don's house - you really will enjoy it! Great house, great neighborhood, and his equipment is just wonderful.

Thanks for a very nice afternoon, you have beautiful home with an absolutly great layout!

Being about to have three systems running and no sound bleeding from one system into the other listening areas makes for a perfect SMAC meeting (and I am not saying this just because I got to hog the CDP all afternoon !)
 
Yep. Agree will all who attended - a great time yesterday. Thanks for hosting Don - a truly cool house with a system in almost every room.

Don't forget: there's another SMAC today at Gary's at 1pm - be there!
