If I remember correctly, Dan enjoys his hard hard rock & his psychedelic tunes and dislikes female Jazz vocalists or anything cheesy!

Think I will try to find my Sundazed Stooges LP's & maybe some Morphine!

Please define "Cheesy" as it applies to music.

Do I hafta explain everything to you?

If you need crackers to listen to the tunes.... it's cheesy music!

  3. Hello, It’s Me – Todd Rundgren
  4. Seasons in the Sun – Terry Jacks
  5. Love Will Keep Us Together – Captain and Tennille
  6. I’d Really Love to See You Tonight – England Dan and John Ford Coley
  7. Torn Between Two Lovers – Mary MacGregor
  8. Don’t Give Up On Us Baby – David Soul
  9. Alone Again, Naturally – Gilbert O’Sullivan
  10. Or anything by Florence and the Machines :naughty:

Dang, I tried to finish up here at work and make this one....... Have a good time all.

Everyone was too full to post last night, great spread of Cajun cooking supplied by our gracious host!:thmbsp:

You nailed that one on the head buddy!

Great red beans and rice, gumbo and I loved that cornbread, which is probably why I felt as stuffed as a Thanksgiving turkey most of the evening....

Thanks to Dan and his friend Nate for some fine, fine fixins!!

The Village people, dirty rice, and hold the cheese

This was a great time and a heart (& stomach) warming way to push into the holiday season. Dan the man, was a consummate host as always and if you didn't get enough good things to eat, drink, and listen to, well I guess it's because you maybe were not there, and that's too bad.

I can't imagine Motown without the SMAC presence, we are a very fortunate lot.
The MC5, Iggy, and the like may not have shown, there were threats they might. Good thing I didn't bring anything too limp or lame. Turns out, Gladys and the Pips, The Temps, and Marvin did make it briefly, along with Golden earring, the Pumpkins, and the usual hand full of excellent jazz performances on wax.

Olsen, Damn dude, you know your cheese! And what up brother, where was the Morphine?

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us...

Happy Listening!

Thanks for hosting Dan. Incredible food, great music and the usual cast of characters made for a very good afternoon.

Thanks again for having us over.

I have heard it said, "Some food is for the nourishment of the body, some food is for the nourishment of the soul."

I think that was some classic soul nourishing food.

Even if the source of the quote was a tall skinny guy with a hat and a bagorecords!

Why do I feel like I'm looking at a mix tape label or a Media Player playlist?:scratch2:

Sorry I missed this one, probably the closest ever to my house, too. Wife and I were actually downtown that night, too.:tears:

I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it. I've had a cold (I thought) that has held on for more than two weeks. Today my wife and I found out it is a sinus infection. We're both on heavy antibiotics as of today. I'm actually glad I wasn't there; I might have spread it around. Hopefully in January, eh?
