Smaller Advent insulation packing

I’m about to close up some Smaller Advent Loudspeakers after a recap but before I do…. When I opened them up the pink stuff was just shoved in there: eight 12” x 12” squares in each box. Seemed a little haphazard, like someone’d been inside before & winged it on the way out. But this old thread looks like what I found:

So just to make sure, there’s no real rhyme or reason to the Smaller Advent’s insulation, just shove back in the same amount I pulled out?

There are a variety of theories on how to stuff, but busy manufacturers probably aren't concerned with niceties. What really matters is how much, and I'd bet that Advent thought this through fairly carefully - putting a speaker on the market claiming it had as deep bass as the normal Advent took a bit of nerve, even if one knows of Hoffman's Iron Law. Hoffman was the H in KLH, and his Iron Law said that you can have two of three goals - deep bass, small size, or high efficiency. The Smaller Advent was kind of a poster child for the law - it explicitly traded efficiency for smaller size, but claimed the same bass as the Larger Advent. And some thought the smaller one sounded better, so the endevor seems to have worked.

Thank you sir. They’re closed up & sound like champs. Along with some other ragged rescues their cabinets’ll get some work when it’s stay inside season.
