think they must be on about data usage .. 1000 mb to 1 gb ...well not quite them figures but near enough .. i use about 10mb a month but rarely use it .. i think 1000 emails are around 1gb . if he is downloading music and videos this is when you need to worry about gb .. one music track is approx 3.5 mb . videos are much more data ..

I was told by provider 2GB is the less I want to go.... its 25$ more a month on the plan... He downloads lotttsss of music!

have him download i tunes or similar on a PC then transfer it to the smart phone a lot cheaper i tunes and other sires are avail on PC as well.Once go over your data limit they can really get you

Is it true that the major service providers are no longer offering unlimited data plans?

what you have been quoted is about the same as i pay for 15gb mobile broadband which i use all the time . mine is £11.00 something .not sure how that works in dollars these days .best to shop around for the best deal and let them beat each others prices down .. ah one thought with a smart phone you can connect through free hotspots ..and maybe you can use your home internet from hotspots ? you can over here

Hot Spots as in a wireless connection??? If that is what you mean they are all over the place here in Michigan. Once he gets the phone I will read up on it....

if he sets it up as wireless connection as default then through at&t as a fall-back .then it may only need very little on at&t bill . be sure to check how much it costs to go over the limit on data usage .

Thats gonna be a big fear for me.. the overage charges... youll hear loud OOOO CRAPPPP!!!! lol - Im going to call ATT once the phone gets to the house and go over the plan -

At&t does not have an unlimited plan. That is where they make their money. T mobile and Sprint are the only ones to offer unlimited plans still.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you pay monthly for your unlimited plan and who's your service provider? I'm up for renewal and am ready to switch.
