.......in this own opinion. Fifteen minute video, of which 13:45 minutes is used to talk about why everybody else gets it wrong and he gets it right.

Live music can sound terrible too. After the recent YT debacle on the Tekton Troubadours, he claimed he'd share his measurements on all future models. Don't see any measurement data on these new Epic 15s.

Full disclosure: I own two pairs of Tekton speakers and am happy with both of them sonically. Did irk me that all eight feet inserts on the Impact Monitors had to be glued in by me, no glue from the factory. They all came out while replacing the feet with some better looking ones.

Something doesn't compute on this new Epic 15 model. They look nearly identical to The Perfect Set 15. Dimensions and weight are identical. The Epic 15 is claimed to be 95dB sensitive at 2.83V@1m, while The Perfect SET 15 are claimed to be 98dB sensitive at 2.83V@1m on Tekton's web site. The Epic is stated to need 30 watts minimum power. The SET 15 is designed to work with SET amps putting out 2.5-6 watts. A 3dB sensitivity reduction doesn't compute ~10X power requirement increase.
 
His sensitivity rating are suspect, a different woofer (maybe closer to 4 ohms), and it does say "Minimum Recommended Amplifier Power: 30 Watts (will perform well with lower wattage amps as well)". :dunno:

He says 1 watt for The Perfect SET 15. A 3dB sensitivity difference should not translate to 30X power increase recommendation.....or maybe I'm not smart enough to understand. ;-)
 
Is there a reason to put much thought into it?
You could ask the man.
I have always ignored this spec with all brands of speakers and have suffered no ill effects.
 
IMHO the Lore OG is still his best overall speaker.
There is some magic how well it mates to the bass driver woofer.
 
Seems the woofer is different in the SET vs Epic.
IMHO I would go with twin 10" woofers vs single 15"-although the big 15 looks cool!
Hard to say-biggest thing is on how they sound.
Love the Lore OG's.
I did add a P.E> sub I built-class d amp-ultimax II 10" sealed when needed-but most times I leave it off-the Lore OG's dig deep and sound great!
Unless you're buying used-if you can deal with the DIY look-these are a no brainer IMHO in the 1k range.

Different market.
Like I said earlier the Lore OG-IMHO is his best effort.
I agree with +Feedback-the bigger speakers-and tons of woofers makes littles sense in most rooms.
Not any different than the big Infinity's.
Most people's listening rooms can't not handle 6-8 10" woofers and sound good.
IMHO -get the OG Lore-build a nice sealed 10-12 inch sub-if needed, and be happy.
In most rooms, you really would not need a sub, unless you wanted to thump.
I usually leave mine off.
They have good output down to 25hz-and loud!
Plenty good!

I never said I dislike his speakers, I have never heard them

what I dislike is his use of the words "art" and "right" in the same breath

he also used the word "science" yet his presentation is something I would expect to hear from "salesman", not a "scientist"

Regardless....
I get it about the art.
And his dumb quotes.
And agree....
These days, lot's of people seem themselves as Golden Age rebirths.
Larger then life...narcissistic, somewhat sociopaths.....etc.
Add some Ketamine, and you have a **** show.
Just turn on the boob tube/pc/phone.....
Social media makes this all million times worse......and a super drag.
But life does go on.....
 
If Eric was really interested in selling speakers (instead of being a know it all) he would hire an advertising agency and quit posting videos. I've got two sets of Tektons; Lore's and Perfect Set 12s. I think they both produce excellent sound. But Eric is his own worst advertisement. Most people look at the speaker arrays and think "this is a gimmick, it can't possibly sound good". He needs someone in advertising to counter that reaction. Also, he puts out way too many speaker models.

I did ask what the difference is-and all they said was it's a bit more of "everything".
The Audax Gold Dome IMHO was enough to make me stick with the OG Lores.
Heard them before-not in ideal circumstances and they stood out.
IMHO I would pick them over the URZ Lore.

Whatever you want to think of Eric-I don't have a issue with him marketing the way he does-it's his company-like anything else-avoid it if you don't like it.
Everyone has lot's of ideas on how people should run their business.
Usually from those who don't have the guts, wherewithal, etc to hang out a shingle and really put yourself out there.
Put it all on the line.
Myself-been self employed 30 years-so I get it.

He does what he see fit.
As it should be.

No one says everyone has to universally like him.
Or his products.
Or his strategies.
I'm 100% sure he would agree, from the few times we spoke.
He is who is is.
Like everyone else.
And Youtube and social media does have a off button.
No one is really obligated to watch, or comment.

In the end-what his speakers sound like to the end user is what really matters.
From my experience the OG Lore is a winner.

(And what gets me-most of these would never be posted if they were actually face to face with the person they take issue with.
IMHO-if you can't honestly say it face to face-don't post it-here or anywhere.)

Again, whatever you want to think of him-the OG Lores are a well blended, very detailed, and realistic sounding speaker-that's not bright, or boring.
It's still in the lineup for a reason.

Only asking because there is a pair for sale locally at a fair price, not looking to buy new.
