SME iii tone arm tracking

It has been a while since I used my STD turntable with SME iii tone arm and I have forgotten how to set tracking.

After balancing the arm, I am suppose to slide a weight forward. How much does that add to tracking in grams?

The knob I turn is scaled as 0, .25, .5. .75 etc. How much am I tracking with ,25 setting? I assume I add 1 gram or 2 grams
with the weight slid forward?

Thanks Flavio. Much appreciated. I have owned the SME iii, Accutex 320 STR brick, STD TT for decades, but have not used it for
a while and at 76, sadly, my memory has been failing. (My advice is to avoid getting old. :yikes: )

Another question I should have asked. How much tracking force do you and others think I should set my Accutex to?

Your advice is excellent but, sadly, few can take it.
I have an Acutex 312 on my Series IIIs (it was a remarkably cheap Shibata from a surplus place), and it sounds very good. I'm tracking it at 1.5 grams.
