Smooth fade/pause

Hello there,

Do any of you know how I can add a smooth volume fade to a music file ? I am currently really F&#Ing annoyed that the music which I downloaded has no fade for the next track at all, no 2 second pause or anything.

This sounds really shitty on my CD player, and I wish to add it.

I am burning AUDIO-CD format on CD-R so my old player can read them.
