Snell J4 any good?

Just curious about these if they are any good. I had somebody tell me the older Snell models were nice.....for $225 this sounds like a good deal maybe?

Snell speakers are very good, whether it's a good deal or not is up to you but you should hear them before you buy them.

If I was anywhere near these at this price, they would be gone.......and I own 3 sets of Snells. Enough said, I think.

Snell's name is legendary. I'd buy first, ask questions later, but I'm a bit impetuous in that regard.

My Snell J IV are simple in looks but perform nicely!

OK, Great Deal, Run, Don't Walk. One of my biggest audio regrets is selling my Snell E IIs

I saw those a couple days ago on CL.
I was surprised as I expected them to be very similar to my JIII.
It appears the 4's are much taller BASED ON THE CL PICTURES.*
But according to this Snell page they are only a couple inches taller? http://www.snell.no/the_archives_type_J.htm
I've always described my Snells as "polite", they don't do much wrong and do a lot right.



*I used my Snells for about 17 years, but haven't actually seen them since I resurected a pair of Infinitys and put the Snells in their boxes. Maybe the J4 isn't that much taller than my JIII and I was influenced by the pictures in the CL ad.

I'll try it might be a while before i can set them up i'm in the process of building a house. Move in date is set for 1st weekend in Aug but that may be pushed back a week.
