Snell Type C III Worth?

Hi all. Long time viewer first time poster. came across these Snell Type C 3 the other day. The foams look good and overall in pretty solid condition. I can get them for $250ish if I pick them up maybe less. $300ish for them delivered. that a good price?
My room ain’t huge (12x12) so I don’t know if I’m killin some great speakers that way. Plannin to move in the next few years hopefully to a place with a bigger living room. Need to keep volume low-ish for fam and when I move for neighbors.
are these efficient and sound good low?

sorry if thjs is the wrong spot for this. Let me know and I’ll post somewhere else. Thanks for the help

I can only find specs for Cii model. I had never heard of the Ciii until this thread.

do u think this post would be better in the general speaker forum? i haven't posted here so IDK what is right

I got a "virtual audition" not ideal but these are covid times for ya. they sound as solid as they can while being played from an iphone
Just go get them, they are good speakers. Easily refoamed if needed... put them 16-18” from back wall and Happy Holidays. It’s only $250... you can’t go wrong.

Thanks! One other thing. I have the opportunity to get B&W CDM 1NTs with stands for around $400. Do you think that’s better for my smaller room?

You are asking about their price (value) and this the only section (Dollars and Sense) that questions about value can be asked in.
In addition, asking the same question in multiple sub forums is a no-no.

Folks here are happy to help.
For the most part Snells are highly regarded.
They do have a couple peculiarities though, Snell stated each production speaker was "matched to a master speaker" by fine tuning the crossovers. Recapping speaker crossovers is very common, but care must be taken when recapping Snells in particular. Use the same type and spec rated caps as originally installed. In addition, many (all?) Snells used a special foam surround (refoaming is also a common practice with many speakers, especially older ones) and the acknowlkedged best source for the "proper" surrounds is overseas, somewhere in Europe I believe, so it's best to not just buy the cheapest surrounds you may find on ebay. There are one or two (atomichifi is one) places that sell OEM Snell drivers if replacment drivers are needed. Their practice is to include the necessary crossover components to return the original voicing if OEM replacement drivers are needed or used.

have to chime in to voice support for these very pleasing speakers, currently showering me with Sympathy for the Devil. My ci's have such a beautifully balanced and neutral sound. very revealing. snagged mine for two bennies, a couple of years ago. they sound better in my smaller room, compared to the larger room where the ADS L980's 12" woofer moves more air for a more pleasing, fuller bass.
