Snubber Circuits on the power switch? Pros and Cons

Hi all,
I have a Denon DRA-300 and I believe it has a RC Snubber Circuit on the Power Switch. I am considering making one using the values ( .033uF + 120ohm ) printed on the side (see photo) to install on my recent refurbished Advent 350 to add some protection to the power switch. I have been doing research and get off into the weeds pretty fast trying to calculate the optimum RC snubber circuit. Need some practical advice, would the snubber circuit used on the Denon provide protection to my Advent power switch and for that matter work for most audio receiver. What are the down sides / risks. Thank you for any advice or insight you can provide me.

Not an expert by any means but the Sansui I've been working on just has a .033uF cap on the power switch as a snubber with no resistor. When I was researching that it seemed most of the time a resistor is recommended but apparently it's not 100% necessary. I would think you could apply that to any switch and it should make the switch last a lot longer. Only downside I can think of is if the cap fails shorted, you wouldn't be able to turn the power off. Using a safety rated cap should mitigate that.
 
Just get an X2-rated cap for the value and voltage you need. In the US, a 250V cap should suffice. They should be less than $2 new.
 
I agree that a X2 rated cap is enough. The problem with the R-C snubber is that if the resistor gets open, you have no protection for the switch contacts.
