My Hickok 539C gets a lot of use.
The 7-pin subminiature, 8-pin octal and 9-subminiature are so worn, I have to tilt the test tube until the line meter moves before I can be sure it connected.
When I have dozens off tubes to test, this can become frustrating.
The 7-pin has been replaced with a saver, and that is now worn out.

I'm looking for good high quality socket savers. Gold/ceramic?
I have seen the underside if this tester, I would not want to have to change-out that socket.

Pomona is a high quality brand of savers.

Unfortunately you can install a 9 pin, But you cannot use the long screw to hold it down because there is a center pin contact...

:(

I just searched eBay for 7 pin tube socket savers and found several options. You might be able to find something cheaper, but just wanted to give you a starting point.

Good catch.
I would like the option of bolting it down like the old Pomona that's it there now, but every one I've found, including this one, doesn't have that feature.
But at that price, it's worth a try.
Thank you and Happy New Year.
