I am very excited to be offering a very unique speaker for sale at the HHA showroom. I have a pair of Quad 988 electrostatic speakers available. These speakers have been fully restored by Sheldon Stokes at SDS Audio Labs in Grantham, NH. Sheldon is the de facto ESL expert in the US and did an amazing job bringing these speakers back to pristine condition physically and acoustically.

These speakers need a LOT of room to breathe. They are true full-bandwidth di-pole electrostatics. The image they create is absolutely phenomenal with the right room placement. 6-8 feet from a back wall, and relatively nearfield 8-10 foot listening position relative the speaker, a slight cant upward, and BAM, everything is placed exactly where it needs to be in space. "Unsuffer Me" by Charles Lloyd and the Marvels brings chills.

Sheldon has sent over the frequency response curve for these speakers, right and left.

Have received a few questions so I will clarify here: All 8 panels were completely rebuilt (4 per side). The p/s filter caps were replaced. Can provide an email from SDS Audio confirming this. SDS Audio will also honor a 1-year guarantee to the buyer for the time of purchase.

So, again, these are a set of fully restored Quad electrostatic speakers, WITH WARRANTY, $2,200.
