Solid state Viscount stereo amp

Hi Guys, I usually hang out on Lenco heaven but drew a blank on this question earlier.

I wonder if anyone can help me ID this amp and point me in the direction of a schematic.

The amp itself is not spectacular but my Dad and Uncle made a trip from Leeds to Carnaby Rd, London in 1970 - which would have been a big deal at the time - and bought this amp and a pair of audiotrine speakers. As such there is some sentimental value and it would be great to get the thing fired up and refurbished.

There is the vox viscount brand but the font is very different. And viscount iii etc kits. I don’t think it’s related to either but could be wrong.

It would be nice to know a bit about the brand / manufacturer if possible. Or the drivers.

A number of British audio products didn't make their way to this side of the pond. If I might make a suggestion, use the "report" button under your 1st post and ask one of our friendly mods to move your post to the "British Audio" forum. Starting multiple threads for the same subject is frowned upon. It looks like you've done some research, and you may not have enough info to know the country of manufacture, but it's a start. If you do start a restoration thread we would definitely love to see it. I hope you do get the info and will keep us apprised of your progress.

I’m getting closer with the ‘investigation’. See the above ad. The kits I had identified were RTVC Viscount iii (one was on fleabay (for peanuts) ) . But I now know from the above what RTVC stands for and I think they were the manufacturer and retailer. The reason I say kits is because I found a thread referring to Viscount iii where the person referred to it as a kit which they had had in their college common room in the 70s. It never worked properly apparently. There was also a comment that RTVC used whatever ‘left over’ components they had to make their product.

I’ll dig a bit more. It would be a nice little project.

Not unusual for manufacturers of that era, here and abroad, to use up components that were available. I've seen many threads where in production changes were made that don't match the schematic available. Enjoy your project.
