Went to go take a look at these this morning, They are very nice looking in person, very unique

The horns are very cool to see in a smaller monitor and I wanted them for a bedroom setup, unfortunately one of the horn drivers was not working when I got to the guys studio (He ended up figuring out the problem after I left) - I listened to them briefly and the midrange horn even when adjusted was pretty overwhelming vs the tweeter and woofers

Unfortunately I ended up passing on them, the woofers are not original - but I think they are audax 8" decent replacements. I would have taken them home and played around with them for a little less $$$, they guy was stuck at $650 which I thought was too much after seeing and listening to them.
 
Hmm interesting. I kind of figured they're would be an issue like that with the sound. These are studio monitors after all. And not HiFi speakers. Price is a tough call. In a way anything with wooden horns is worth big bucks. But the non original woofers is a killer. Audacity are better then decent, but if they're not right for these speakers. Then they're only worth what you can sell them for, and that's probably not that much. Especially if they're older.

Sounds like you made the right call I think. It's hard to walk away from such unique speakers too. But you might have had to drop some serious money/time to get these right. Especially since you're basically having to completely re-engineer the speaker to make it correct, and to make it HiFi. Then after all that. They'll have little resale value.

Thanks for that information, i almost buy them, but that little voice inside of my head was saying nope!!!!
