Some advice for an audiophile neophyte

Hi, I'm completely new to this world, I'm 18 and I don't know anyone who likes turntable.

• I have bought a Technics SL bd20, p24 mount but the stylus is damaged, do you have any suggestions for a good replacement? Something from 30$ to 100$
• I have to buy also an amplifier, in my eBay list i found two good choices for their price and the sellers are in Italy, where I live. They are Technics su z200 and su v1x.

Are there any difference between them? What would you recommend at the same price.
I know the z2 is an avanguard of the bpc, but I like his front.

i would go with the su-v1x over the other any day,a p24 stylus should be very easy to pick up,well they are here in nz

Yes the p24 it's easy to find, but there are some stylus that sound better ? Even if I have to change also the cartridge

The first has more power better specs. Surprised they are same era units.

Thakker.eu has lots of choices for cartridges and probably has replacement stylus (and belt, if needed) so maybe contact them for recommendation.

Sister site to hifiengine has the service manual for your turntable. It is vinylengine.

You can talk euros here. Most can translate, if they need to. Others live a sheltered life and need to get out more, but he was correct, posts like this should be a new post not added on to a different discussion. But hey, welcome to AK!

You have both solid state question on amps and turntable question so you could have boosted that post count be posting two questions one in each forum but you have your answer since Mike and I agree, get the V1x if it works properly.

Since it's a TP4 cartridge, replacing the whole cartridge isn't much more difficult than replacing the stylus. Even so, the Technics cartridges are quite good at their price levels and replacement styli seem to be easily available. But Thakker may give you some good options - I would suggest going for one of the cheaper options for the moment. In a world where you can get an AT 3600 in whatever its TP4 guise is called for less than 20 bucks, and where the stylus for your current cartridge is probably about the same price, you should choose one of them and start listening - you can make expensive choices (mistakes) later.

Now this sounds a little over the top, considering your stated budget, but hear me out; Ortofon 320P. It's more than 2X what you said you wanted to spend, at LPGear's site, but the magic is 2 little things:
1. It's got nearly the same specs as the Ortofon 2M Bronze, which is quite a bit more expensive. But more importantly...
2. You can get genuine replacement styli for $55, which is pretty unheard of in a cart on this level. Considering styli can be worn pretty badly in a couple years of regular play, the 320P turns into an actual bargain in the long run.

Excuse me, I don't understand, you consider the 320p not worth for it's price?
I bought the EPS new from eBay sold by an Italian e-commerce for 30€

That's just the stylus. The cart you mount it on, with a stylus of course, is around $200 at LPGear. Ortofon doesn't appear to sell the 320P cart anymore, but does sell the replacement styli.

And I consider it VERY good for the price. It's an anomaly because P mount carts are fairly unpopular these days. I have one and like it very much.
