A LOT of work goes into making odd-shaped speakers like those Nautilus designs; a lot more than is required for rectangular boxes, or even irregular quadrilaterals. Those pics were a very nice step-by-step depiction of just how much work is involved, and helps one appreciate why the commercial ones are so expensive!

There are definite advantages to that kind of shape, so if you are going to put either that kind of money or that much work into a pair of speakers, you might as well do them that way... but personally, I find the somewhat lesser work involved in open-baffle line arrays, which to my ears often have even greater sonic advantages, to be a more worthwhile approach. It's nice that people do these things, though - more power to them (pun intended! :D).

Probably better-built than the originals. This guy has talent! The tweeter is a ring-radiator that resembles those available from Parts Express.

He knew what he wanted, had unlimited resources at his disposition, talent and determination. More importantly, family support.
I am sure his girlfriend or other significant one, with the weight of those speakers, musst resign herself from any furniture rearrangement.:D

I would like to shake those man's hand. They are not just not just speakers, they are works of art. Those gentlement get my vote for best project of the year.
