Happened again today at Frys. This time I clicked it and took me to google maps. There it gave an option to turn it off. I'm sure it will stop popping up, but still knows where I am. There should be a law, this crap should have to ask to allow them to spy on you and if caught without permission, you could sue them for everything they got !

I never heard of such a thing as a "slewing bearing", it sounded to me like a bearing that suddenly went off track to look at a squirrel. Turns out there actually is such a thing - you can look it up - but I have otherwise no interest in one.

Familiar with those, from my old line of work. Never sold any, but were part of larger product lines we sold.

Russia has their women marry all of us and then take over our finances, run our credit cards up and make us do all the chores.

I never knew my ex was Russian. This explains a lot!

Having run ad blockers for several years now, I'm missing out on all of this fun.

As we speak I am making myself a tinfoil hat. Why? Read this:
In the afternoon I was watching TV with my father. Nothing spcial, just an episode of wheeler dealers. They were fixing an old land rover.
My father said at one point: "Do you know the name of the mechanic?"
I said "Yes..."
He continued anyway "EDD CHINA, his name is EDD CHINA"
Nothing weird up until here right?
Right.

Half an hour ago I checked youtube on my laptop for some videos of Ave, tool repairs, some music etc. After a refresh on the recommended section appeared a video. The title? Edd China on leaving Wheeler Dealers posted by Edd China three days ago. Interesting, right? Now the details:
1. The tv is an old crt and we have no cable box, just the cable that plugs in the tv.
2. I have NEVER searched anything about that show on youtube. In fact I just listened to some music and watched some reviews on 3d printers for the last couple of days.
3. My smartphone is an old by now Lumia 920 on which I am not logged in on my youtube account because a couple of days ago I had to perform a hard reset and it barely had time to install all the updates and apps. It was in my pocket while we watched tv.

Could it be just a coincidence?

I really like the shows with Ed China. The guy is great and the shows seem to be pretty authentic. However, your story must be based on coincidence, maybe a case of "synchronizity" (Carl Gustav Jung). I can't figure out another explanation.

It's getting really creepy. I had a conversation with my daughter in the supermarket about tilapia, next thing I know I'm getting suggested links on FB about the health benefits of tilapia. I never even searched for tilapia. I am quite sure that my phone's microphone had something to do with it. My wife thought I was crazy then she heard a podcast talking about corporations using phone microphones and cameras to gather information about us. The person in the podcast said you'd be crazy not to suspect that it's going on.

That's creepy! A couple of years ago Wifey said to me that she saw ads for something she was just talking to me about a day or two earlier and we just thought at the time that we must have fogot that we searched for it. But it's happened since. I'm sure most people, while being aware of the camera's vulnerability, forget the microphone can be used too.
One thing that really creeped me out, was the Xbox360's Kinect camera. More than anything else, it gave me that "eyes watching you" feeling. I threw it out especially as we stopped using the gimicky thing anyway.
