I have a SONAMP 2120T and am considering the potential benefits of upgrading the power supply filter capacitors and potentially others that might make sense. I believe its from 2008 or 2009. I am using it to drive the bass woofers in a set of 4ohm bi-amped three way speakers. Does anyone have access to repair documents, schematics or thoughts on what capacitors to use? I have heard that folks go 50% higher in uf. The unit works fine right now but if I can improve its performance why not? I haven't opened it up yet to see what capacitors are already in it. Just starting to think about it as a late winter project. These units are rock solid for what they do to drive bass woofers:
Output Power, Stereo mode:
120 watts RMS/ch @ 8 ohms;
160 watts RMS/ch @ 4 ohms
Dynamic Power at Clipping:
163 watts/ch @ 8 ohms;
242 watts/ch @ 4 ohms
