It’s 2:35 a.m. and I’m experiencing audio nirvana listening to the above mentioned setup.

just would like everyone’s opinion on why a solid state preamp makes tube power amps sound so good.

why a solid state preamp makes tube power amps sound so good.

Maybe the tube amps just sound good, and the pre is good enough to not step in their way. There are many different theories about why tubes sound better than transistors, many of them don't hold a lot of water under close examination. At this point I prefer to just enjoy what I know works and not worry overly much about why.
