Sony CD/DVD DVP-CX995V Connections?

I recently bought a Sony CD/DVD player, DVP-CX995V. I only wanted it because I have hundreds of CD's and it would be nice to have them all available in one player. I thought I got a good deal on it, but it came with no directions.
What outputs do I use to connect to my Marantz 1060's Aux 1 input? What are 5.1CH outputs and how are they different from Line Out connections (I assume they are also outputs)?
In searching I found lots of info online on how to operate the unit, but nothing on how to properly do basic system connections to play CD's. Please excuse my newbie ignorance, but I'd rather be sure than to possibly burn out something in my Marantz or CD played..

5.1 channel outputs are for surround sound systems, with the "point one" being low frequency output for a subwoofer. (And that's the full extent of my knowledge of surround sound).

For some reson I was getting a lot of strange, unhelpful results in my google searches. For example, in my search on how to connect this unit, more than once I would get results on how to connect a CD player to this unit, exactly the opposite of what I was looking for. I never tried the model number alone. Thank you for your help.

I had a look into the service manual to check for possible differences in terms of implementation, but in fact both the two pairs of line outputs and the 5.1 output are fed by the very same AKM AK4358VQ 8-channel DAC in combination with four NJM4558 dual opamps as line-drivers. So the implementation is basically the same (except that the 4558 for the line-outs would have two drive two inputs in parallel, if both pairs of line-outs are used) and you needn't worry about a possible difference in the quality of implementation.

Hence the remaining difference simply is the intended usage. I.e., as already hinted to by JDub above, you'd foremost use the 5.1 output for connecting an older surround receiver, that already sports a 5.1 input, but doesn't yet sport a decoder for Dolby Digital and/or DTS, so you could use the decoder of the DVP-CX995V instead. But of course that would merely apply to discs, that may actually contain DD- or DTS-encoded sound tracks and hence doesn't apply to regular, Red-Book-compliant audio CDs, but rather to DVDs. Which doesn't mean, that you wouldn't get any sound from such discs via the line outputs, though, as these will provide a 2-channel downmix instead - and at least in case of DD-encoded tracks, you even have the choice between plain stereo and standard Dolby Surround output (see the audio setup options in the user manual (page 81...)). Interestingly enough, that Dolby Surround transcoding only seems to be available for the line outputs, but not for the front outputs of the 5.1 output, although it's possible to set the center, rear speakers and sub to "none" in the speaker setup of the DVP-CX995V.
