Sony cdp-x33es Right distorted

Hi there,

I bought a defective sony cdp-x33es, the problem with the player is that the right channel is distorted.
After changing all the red Duorex II caps (which were almost all leaking) for Nichicon Finegold caps the problem is still the same, but if i let the player play for 3 minutes the right channel is suddenly good again...

Any idea what else could cause this problem?

thx!

Sounds like it might be a poor connection or solder joint that's affected by heat.

While it's doing it, try pressing / wiggling all of the components and boards (being careful not to touch the high voltage input!) and seeing if it changes at all.

Lovely player you've got there. Well worth sorting.

Sounds like it is heat related. Buy some freeze spray, also called circuit coolant. Spray a small amount on each component in the output stage, starting with the opamps. The one that causes it to fail is the bad one. It is more likely to be an IC than a passive component.
