hello went into a thrift store today.. i had $20. burning a hole in my pocket.
saw these headphones.. they look like they are in good condition.. gave them a listening test.. they seem to have pleanty of bass.. but there is a few things that im not so sure im hearing correctly..

there seems to be toomuch highs.. and maybe a hole in the midrange.
i havent tryed them on a different amplifier though..

does anybody else have any experience with these?

tried them on a different amplifier....
dramatically different sound than i am hearing on my c-4's headphone output.
my c-4 sounds nasty :tears:

il do some cable swapping b4 i cry.

I've always been a big fan of the Sony MDR-V6 and its clone, the MDR-7506, which, to my ears, give a detailed sound with plenty of punch. Comparatively, I found the v600 to be a bit dark, with, as you allude to, relative weakness in the midrange. Your assessment seems pretty accurate to me.

ok i like them after a day of listening to different stuff.
they are nice and detailed.. but they can be a bit harsh at times.. especially when you turn the volume up.

I have a pair that I bought years ago when I worked for Sony. I think they retailed for $150Cdn and the employee price was around $90. They sound OK to me, but just kinda bland. I didn't really use them all that much over the years, I almost always had the opportunity to listen with speakers and they were a little big for portable use. Now that I'm a dad they get used a lot more. I wish I had something better. That's a lesson for the youngsters here; make sure you have a good headphone setup before you become a parent!:D

I love mine...but I use my Grado 60's more often due to the comfort level of the Grado foam. Still, I think the Sony cans sound excellent.

i can wear these for about a hour or two.. than my ears start to feel hot so i have to take them off for alittle while.
