me and one of my audio buddies are trying our hardest to get our hands on a psx... we want to start with a 1001... once we get it i will post back with what i think... just out of curiosity dose anyone know if the transports in thouse things are specificly good... would it be posible... (im sure it would if i was smart enough) to just use it as a dac???... if it did sound good and i put it in a differnt box i wouldnt really want the top load thing... i would want a front load trans port... just something to think about

I don't think the transport is anything too special but does the job and is very easy to remount into a different case as it just sits on 3 metal turret thingys, it has rubber suspension things fit into the holes. A bonus is if the laser unit dies ithe whole unit costs peanuts to replace and takes all of 5 seconds.

You don't like top loaders? I prefer them, but each to his own.
