Ok I know that this stuff isn't as old as some of the other stuff on here but in todays world where we have iPods and such I thought it would be cool to show off your old portables. AKA Walkmans.

OK I will start off. I bought all this stuff new.

1. Sony WM-F100III Radio cassette player. Bought it about 22 years ago payed $114 at Walmart. I think it was the very top of the line. Uses a rechargeable battery or a single AA battery.

2. Sony TCD-D8 Dat walkman. Forget how much I payed now but it was a lot. Feels like a well built camera and uses 8 AA batteries.

3. Sony portable minidisc recorder MZ-R30. Made in 1997. Bought it at the Sony store in a outlet mall and it was a referb. Dropped it so it only works now on the add-on battery pack or plugged in.

4. Sony CD compact player D-245 Discman circa 1996.

I used to buy everything sony but after going through 3 DVD players and my first one had a bad sync problem I am not looking for new sony stuff. Even took these pics on a Sony camera DSC-P52 [Not to crazy bout it ether]

Nice stable of minis you have there. I used to have a lot of portables, but most are taking a dirt nap about 2 miles north of Marina~

Sony TFM-1000W from 1965/66. FM, AM, SW1, SW2. Has tape in/out, Mpx out, ear out, ant. in, ext. power in. 4x6" alnico speaker.
The buttons on top are for power, AFC and Local/Distance sensitivity. It was considered to be a pretty nice radio in it's day.

I have that radio too, used to be my Dad's. It makes an appearance in the film "Good Morning Vietnam".

I have a Sony walkman with a two way speaker in it. Used it a lot and in the bathroom I have a Sangean radio that I listen to every day in the shower. (It has weather and TV band also)

qualify

This should qualify. A sony HST-110. A full function receiver that is much smaller than a lot of boom boxes I've seen. OK, ok. Its not portable, need AC and a couple speakers, but it is easy to move.

Some day I am going to find one of these to add to my collection of things I don't really need. Six transistors. Wow!!!

Not mine.

hmmmmmm

The black one, I have had for many years. It JUST stopped working this week.
The hold switch seems to have broken on "hold off".
It really is a performer.
The beige one was my daughter's before the iPod.
Now I use it. It is pretty good.

No, I'm pretty sure it's the same as mine, only in black and chrome.

Odd, mine is the same as yours Celt, but with black plastic instead. I'm pretty sure I remember a tighter shot of that radio somewhere in the film, hmm. From what I can see in that clip, it's identical to mine.

I should try to get it working.
