Sony PS LX 520 linear fully functional except tonearm will not drop.

I just picked up a PSLX 520 that was listed as untested. The tonearm would not move across so I put a new belt on and then everything was fully functional size detection record detection everything except the tonearm would not drop the head once it got into place.

I've recapped the power board and checked the n10 fuses. Literally everything works except the head will not drop getting to my wit's end here please help!

Congratulations on your recent acquisition. There are are couple user safety things here that are working to prevent potential stylus damage. First there is small lamp at the left side back that works in-conjunction with the platter mat to detect if a record is on the platter and the size. Is the light working and are you using the factory platter mat? The correct original mat has slits for detecting a record is on the table and its size detection for the needle tonearm to drop.

I replaced the original incandescent lamp with a small LED with a resistor to perform at correct voltage and amperage. I have the lamps details : 3mm LED, 7-9 volt 20ma rating.
