Sony PS-LX250H Questions

I just ordered a LX-250H off of eBay, which is my first time buying a turntable. I also got myself a replacement stylus, since the seller said that the original one is slightly damaged. Could anyone who owns one/has heard one tell me how their experience was? I got mine for 35 bucks so I’m not expecting much (but I’m expecting more from it than my current record player)

Basically one of the wider Hanpin-R200-based models, similar to the Pioneer PL-990 - more consumer stereo class than really a hifi turntable.

"Good" is highly subjective, but imho it'll be just fine for a starter table.

More like fairly decent than really good, I'd say - surprisingly good considering its really simple arm, though.

Asking the same question in a few PS-LX250H threads hoping to get some eyes on an issue. The tone arm on my PS-LX250H literally comes crashing down on the vinyl when started (or up/down’ed). Wasn’t this way about a year ago when I last used it. Any pointers to address this ? TIA
