Sony PS-LX430 purchase advice

OK, I'm still hunting for a turntable. A bit of background - I'm attempting to build a system that doesn't need to be high end, but I want something better than I'm doing now, which is an ION TT-USB hooked up to my computer and playing through tiny computer speakers. This Sony PS-LX430 is available locally, and is described as in working order, nice and clean. Cost is $60.

Should I buy?

I'd pass you can do better. OP might want to read a little deeper and learn whats high end, midfi, lofi, midfi can be quite affordable and sound quite good.

It's definitely nothing fancy, but that's a decent turntable with respectable specs. It will blow any crappy Ion 'table out of the water when it comes to performance and build quality. That said, I'd only pay that much if it's in mint condition. Even if it is, I'd still try to talk them down a little.

A couple sources, AKs Barter Town, Craigslist, thrift stores occasionally. You might want to start out checking the many photos and descriptions in the AK section of members systems which will include a wide variety of equipment. Also your budget is an important factor, best bang for the buck is preowned vintage equipment.
