Sony PS-LX510 - sound only from one channel

I have a relatively newly aquired PS-LX510, with a genuine Sony cartridge, with NOS Sony stylus. It works pretty well, everything moves as it should, but I only get sound out of one channel.

I've measured the cable from the internal board, that is fine. I've also measured the sockets for the pickup to the board inside the tonearm assembly, those seem fine. I haven't yet measured the cable from the tonearm assembly to the internal board, but I doubt that is the issue, as that cable is fairly high gauge, and unlikely to break internally.

And there someone commented that they had a similar problem, where the tonearm sockets didn't form a good connection with the pins from the cartridge.

Is that the most likely solution? I was hoping not having to strip the tonearm assembly, but it seems I might have to, unless anyone has something else worth trying before.

I have ofc tested a different cartridge/stylus, and swapped right/left on the amp. The problem follows the swap.

I had this problem with a PS-LX500 and unfortunately the only longterm fix was to take and disassemble the table down to the arm carridge being removed from the table and to take the arm end socket off the arm and rebend the phono clip that had become pushed out of the socket. I think the only way that can happen is as a result of a slightly bent out of true alignment cartridge pin, and we continue to push the cartridge into the TP-4 socket and eventually the pin pops out back and drops a channel.

As you said test the continuity from ends to end, you'll likely find that the problem is really in the arm and a pin is dislodged and needs to be re-inserted, just try to gently bend the small retention clip to prevent it from happening again and check all of the cartridges you have to have strait pins.
