Sony PS-X6 stopped working

I knew I needed a new needle, but now the TT won't even come on. It sits on a Yamaha CR-620, which I have cleaned up and it works fine. Also, TT needs new needle or cartridge (wires). I am a complete novice though a quick learner. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This isn't going to solve your issue, but as a side matter, a turntable should be placed on a dedicated shelf, tabletop, or rack space. Putting it on top of an amplifier is particularly problematic. First, because you don't want a heat source directly sitting below your turntable. Second, because you don't want to block or partially block the heat vents of the amp, which are usually there for good reason. I doubt there's any way you could get that turntable onto that amp and leave the vents clear.

Personally, I'd consider it rather risky from a safety standpoint to place anything on a top-vented amplifier, and most particularly on a 1970s-vintage amplifier.

That is a lovely turntable, but also a complex TT. Certainly not a project for a novice. I'd start looking for a shop or someone with the necesary skills. It is well worth fixing. If you can indicate where you are located you may get suggestions for places to take it. Good luck.

Is the table plugged in and is the socket active? I've been there, done that. :)

I would also agree with Tonoje. The heat coming up from the Yamaha might affect the turntable's inside if it gets too hot.

Hoping that this ends up being an easy fix!
