Sony SS-7330 ULM

Hey y'all,
I have read through some of the threads here on the old quality Sony speakers...great stuff.
I have a guy who will ship me SS-7330 ULMs for practically nothing. Caveat: He can not attest to their working condition, but they sure look like they are in good shape! Apparently they've been sitting and collecting dust.
Considering that the package will be pushing 100 lbs, I'm wondering it'll be worth it?

I have never shipped anything this heavy and fragile across the country, so decided to ask the pros here at AK if it sounds like a good idea or too risky.

One more thing: They are 6 ohm, and I would only be running them with my CR-620 -- this should be enough to get some good sound out of them right? (if indeed they are working)

Thanks!

Very risky

In my humble opinion you're just asking for a headache, reason being is if the current owner doesn't know how or doesn't have a track record packaging and shipping speakers there is a a very good possibility they will arrive damaged.

If you're paying the shipping cost be sure to also pony up for the insurance and even then, if they were to arrived damaged, good luck going through the process of collecting that can be a nightmare.

I'm not trying to be a buzz kill but cross country shipping can be perilous for folks who don't know what they're doing and even if you have the shipping company do the packaging they tend to do a less then stellar job at it

Thank you for the response, really appreciate it! I am pretty excited to hear these bad boys but may have to pass. It would be nice to hear some Phil bombs on em ;)
