Sony SS-M9, M7, M5

I saw the complete set of Sony SS-M9, SS-M7, and SS-M5 speakers at my local swap. Neat looking speakers! I've seen the M7 before but not the M9 and it is huge and heavy.

Anyways, the seller was selling as a set and wanted too much. Sadly, until the seller drops his price, they are going to get trashed as the pyramid shape is hard to protect the corners.

Bummer, those aren't just good speakers, they are outstanding. Easily the equivalent of the NS-1000s if not better.

How much was the guy asking out of curiosity?

$650. The M9 wasn't looking so good but the drivers were fine. The M7 and M5 looked good but the seller was abusing them by putting them on the pavement and tipping them on the back edge, which causes the edge to crush. A real shame!

Too bad to see abuse on such great speakers from an owner that obviously does not deserve to own any decent gear. That is a real bargain though, even at that price...

$650!!!! Shoot, I would pay that much just for a pair of SS-M9!! WHOA! Well if you do pick them up and want to totally recoup your cost you know where to look. I don't care too much for condition, as long as the drivers work and they are not totally trashed.

Excellent speakers. A nice set of SS-M9s brings more than $1K and a set of SS-M9ex (forgotten the correct suffix) with the super-tweeters will bring $2K. Very pleased with the SS-M3s in the LR system.

I bet they will still be there next time. If they aren't too trashed, I might make an offer. I don't recall seeing the suffix -ex but that would be a nice bonus.
