I've obtained an old Sony ST-S700ES quite cheaply.
It's all working well, as far as I can tell, except that the frequency displayed is a little 'off' - for example, a station on 92.90MHz will only lock on when the tuner displays 92.95MHz.
This +0.05 MHz offset is constant throughout the FM band.
I had a look at the service manual to see if it had a simple way to 'trim' things to display the correct value, hoping there'd be a pot or something that would adjust it, but I can't see anything obvious.
The FM adjustments there include "Phase Locked Loop Detect Adjustment", "Muting Width Adjustment", "IF Distortion Adjustment", "FM Stereo Separation Adjustment", "FM Meter Level Adjustment", "FM Muting Level Adjustment", "Pilot Cancel Adjustment", "CAL TONE Level Adjustment", "SST Circuit Adjustment", "Tracking Adjustment", "Control Voltage Adjustment" - but none of those sounds quite the ticket?
I have no test equipment, or to be fair any knowledge of tuner calibration... I can live with the inaccurate display but if there's a quick fix...
