Sony ST-S730ES

Hello all!

I'm looking to hear from other members who own/owned this tuner.

I recently purchased a Sony ST-S730ES tuner and I notice what seems to be a muting relay click sounds
when I press certain function buttons.
Is it normal for this tuner?
Also, does digital tuners require alignment?

Any input will be greatly appreciated,

According to the Tuner Information Center, the muting you describe is normal with that tuner. Also, I do believe that alignment tweaking is possible. Check out http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/sony.html.

Alignment may not be required, as it already may be in good alignment - but yes they are adjustable to align if needed.

I have this tuner. The only clicking sound that I recall is when the unit was trying to tune to a very weak station that was intermittently coming in and out.

I believe that the clicking was due to the 'muting' function, and you just need to de-select it. It's been a while so my recollection could be wrong. The point is, my tuner clicked as well, but there was a way to stop this.

I just bought one of these for a friend about a month ago. He said it was doing something.... I'll have to ask him some pointed questions again.

How do you like it otherwise? From what I saw of it breifly, it seemed like a good one.
