Sony STR-222L repair

Hello all
I have just bought a Sony STR-222L as not working as a project.
Initial inspection shows a damaged capacitor across the power switch. The service manual describes this as an encapsulated component comprising a 0.033 Microfarad capacitor and a 120 Ohm resistor in series. At some point a 0.0047 Microfarad capacitor has been added in parallel to the original damaged one. Photos attached.
There are also 2 x 1.6 amp fuses on the transformer secondaries blown that are not shown on the schematic.
I have not seen a combined capacitor and resistor like this across a switch before, only single capacitors. I would be grateful for any advice on this arrangement; why it may have failed and whether it is best replaced with appropriately rated separate components to match the service manual arrangement?
