Sony Str-6045

I have an opportunity to get a Sony Str-6045 for 300 Canadian. Its not easy to find accurate specs but I think I did and it has pretty poor SNR on MM phono (important) 60db, and the other two aren't great either. Is it worth it? Would I be happy with the sound? I am learning so I could be missing something.

$300 Canadian = about $208 US which isn't outrageous but isn't cheap, either. What is the cosmetic and operational condition of the unit? Has it been serviced in recent years? I wouldn't be too concerned about the Signal-to-Noise Ratio numbers of the phono section or other inputs. I had one and it sounded good, which to me is more important than any specs. If working properly, it should also have an excellent tuner if you listen to FM radio. Also, the STR-6045 doesn't have a ton of power, so you'll need efficient speakers or it will be best used in a small room. Can you demo it to test its functionality and see how it sounds? Only you can say whether you like the sound or not. Is the price negotiable? These are some things to consider before you take the plunge.

Apparently I can demo it I haven't tried it yet I am somewhere else right now so I can't be there yet but it looks brand new. My only concern is the snr/quality because I live in an apartment so I can't shake the place down. I also have an opportunity for a Realistic sta 240 for 175 but there is shipping and I may have to pay a person in advance and I can't demo it. He is also taking his time sending me a video, I will try for this first so the Sony will be a back up if I can get a deal. The Realistic has better specs..
