Sony STR-6046A

Just sharing this little amp. Previous posts are confirmed:

• Excellent phono amp (kicked-out my Sansui 771, SX-..., )
• Rather good FM (I compare to the 771 which is similar, but not as good as my external Leak Stereofetic)
• Compact bass and open heights, good soundstage
• Real wood case

I listen on the very nice Celestion Ditton 33, volume is at 10 o'clock, louder would be for party time only. The bad: The knobs are a bit plastiky compared to the Sansuis and SX-650 for example. Still, after 771, 7070, Scott 420 (also very nice), SX-650, SX-6000, Sansui 800, Marantz, Luxman, ... this little guy becomes my main system just because it looks good enough and vinyl sounds best Very surprised.

Especially this phono stage sounds the best to me compared to everything I did hear so far (Scott was also very good ! ). Maybe I was just lucky having a good model, but I will not recap, this is so good as-is. Unfortunately FM is not on the top, but good enough, excellent with external tuner.
