I picked up a beautiful Sony STR-6050 receiver that is in fantastic condition. I used a little Deoxit on some of the scratchy pots and it is now working great. I would like to get a wood case to go with the receiver. Would anyone be able to confirm what model wood case goes with the Sony STR-6050? Also, if there is a source for replacement wood cases that is available, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks for the information you provided. I found the description of the case for the 6060FW and it takes the Oiled Walnut cabinet model TAC-5E case. The dimensions for the case are shown below as well.
Keep an eye out on the big auction site (and elsewhere) for parts units that have a wood case. I just picked up a STR-6040 primarily for the wood case to use on my newly acquired TA-1120. Case didn't look too good in the photos, but I'm well acquainted with the wonders of Howard's Restor-a-Finish and it looks like a million bucks now. I'm going to start a thread on my Sony journey and share photos some time soon. One other suggestion - either white or green LED fuse lamps look fabulous lighting up that dial face. The pale whitish-green the incandescents render is hard to look at once you've seen the alternative! Does your 6050 still decode FM in stereo (the red light illuminates)? Mine didn't, but the tuner still sounded fantastic in mono.
My 6050 is pulling in FM in stereo. I will keep a lookout for getting a case, as it would certainly look great surrounded by the wooden cabinet. I look forward to seeing your photos when they are posted.

I have a 6055 that I was trying to find a case for, but I have convinced myself that fresh wooden side panels would do the trick for a lot cheaper.... cases that I have come across are not in very good shape or super pricey... good luck!
