Im a newbie to Vintage Hifi, AK...everything really. I have a lot to learn and so far this forum has been super helpful.
I just bought a STR6120 and I should be picking it up soon. Based on what the seller has shown me via pics and youtube the thing looks almost perfect and sounds the same as well. He did a cleaning and fixed up the tuner but nothing heavy duty.
My concern is obviously this thing is damn near 40 years old. All I have read on the 6120 is that it was built to take on Mac (amongst other high end companies stuff as well) and is a tank.
But Im worried the thing will one day blow its self up when a cap goes.
Is there anyone in the Chicago NorthShore area on AK who does these types of rehabs?
