Hi All,

I bought the STR 6800-SD a couple years ago for $60, and got it completely refurbished this week. Oh man doesn't it have such a beautiful sound! Anyway, I really need help answering a question for any of you that have the manual for this receiver. Next week some sennheiser HD600 headphones are coming to my house and I'm trying to determine if the sony is capable of giving them enough juice. If someone could tell me the ohm output for the speaker jack I'd really appreciate it!!!

Headphone outputs do not have an ohm output. Ohms are a measure of the resistance to the flow of electricity.

The match of the headphones would be their impedance (Ohms) to the amplifier which has a range that it can handle. The 6800 big brother, the STR-7800 can handle headphones from 8-10,000Ω so it will drive almost any headphones. I expect the same from the 6800.

And David knows what he is talking about so I would believe what he says. Alls good.

Report back how you like the combo/

Ok sweet, will do! Thanks for the help. By the way, it was a hard choice between the HD600's and the HD650's. But in the end most people said the HD600 would pair better with listening to vinyl so that's what I went with. Anyone here have any experience with either pair?
