This morning I found a Sony STR-D665 on the side of the road. I have no need for it but hey, free stereo equipment is worth a shot.
Anyway, it was a bit wet when I got it so when I got home, I took it apart and let everything dry. The boards look fine and I can't see any damage the water would have caused...cool. I also fixed a few cracked solder joints before powering it up. I plugged it in (no dim bulb, I know shame shame but it was in a safe environment) and immediately heard the relay click and the protector light started flashing. The front light panel works but, it can't get it out of protection mode nor can I see anything majorly wrong with it. I currently have A/B unselected and nothing hooked up to it.
What do you think a good place to start is? Is it even worth worrying about?
