Sony STR V7 Cosmetic difference

I just picked up a Sony STR V7 receiver, as well as a V5 and noticed that these 2 receivers have woodside panels, but when looking at the same receivers pictures on The Vintage Knob, this series 5,6, and 7 have a metal trim piece on the outer faceplate.

Does anyone know if this was an option for these receivers? I really like the look of the metal trim, versus the cheap looking wood. Maybe a Europeon model? If this was an option, chances i think would be slim to none trying to find this trim piece. :scratch2:

I had noticed that on TVK page also but the V5 I had, and every other V5/6/7 I have ever seen has had wood sides like yours. My guess: Euro.

Yes, I think Europeon models too. Isnt the website owner of TVK a member here? For some reason I think I read that somewhere. If so, probably the one who would know. I havent had a chance to try the V5 yet, still in shipment, but my V7 arrived a few days ago, and it sounds so effortless, like it is hardly breaking a sweat.

I pulled the wood panels off, and it looks better without. The smaller front pieces I havent yet, but depending on how they are held on, I have a friend who owns a custom metal shop, so I am going to ask him to fabricate some for me.
