I have had many different systems though the years, mostly vintage stuff bought from auctions and such. I don't miss most of them, but some i really regret selling but i guess that is part of the hobby.
Sony component hold a special place for me because my dad bought Sony stuff in the 80's and 90's. Nothing special, normal consumer stuff. As good as a reason as any, i guess.
So here is my system in all its glory sitting on a Tylko record shelf.
Amplifier is a Sony FA50ES, in my opinion a superb piece of audio equipment for the price i paid for it. Just a proper basic stereo amp.
Speakers are Sony SS-A5, i think one of the best reasonably priced vintage speakers you can buy. Extremely versatile and beautiful sounding speaker. I bought these from Japan, unfortunately got a bit roughed up in transit but luckily work perfectly. Finding the original stands would have been difficult but i managed to find dimensions and some drawings from some website and my friends dad who is a carpenter made a pair for me!
Cd player is a Sony cdp-x3000ES. Nice player but mostly i got it for the looks. Once saw one of these and for years tried to look for one. Not very common here. Not a real ES component, i think the ES was slapped on as an afterthought to boost sales.
Thats it for the Sony stuff except for the blu-ray. Vinyl is played with Technics SL-1200 mk2 from the mid 80's. This was a university student organization record player for years before i got it in parts. Cleaned and built it up. Used for about 10 years. Couple of months ago i decided to fix it up better. I took the whole thing apart and removed the paint. After that i polished the whole aluminium upper part. It came out nicely. some leds and picht parts are still waiting to be fixed. I was able to find Technics 207C cartridge and a NOS tehcnis stylus for it. Very nice sounding thing. I also had the turntable modded to spin at 78rpm also for old shellac records i sometimes play with a grado 78 mono cartridge. So here it is in all it's glory.
That is about it for my system, i also have a YAMAHA musiccast WX-AD10 streaming box, nice cheap thing with a proper sound.
So that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed this little storytime, if you have any questions i will gladly answer them.
