A while ago I started to have problems with the left channel of my Sony 1140 amplifier.
The sound would disappear completely or with some white noise present. I could make it work by turning the volume up but that stopped working a while ago. Turning the power on and off would turn the channel back on, but it would eventually get cut off.
The repair place here in Budapest had found nothing wrong with the amplifier and handed it back in the same state (indeed, at the time it would work perfectly for 8-10 minutes after being moved from a place to place; as if you could shake it up to get working for a while).
I am not a technical person but I would love to take a chance to understand what might be the issue and possible repair look like.
