I'm back in NC for Thanksgiving and going through and packing up some of my audio equipment. One item is this Sony preamp. I've had this for over 20 years and haven't used it much, though I recall it working well when I last used it. I popped the hood to get some pics, and the construction is really pretty amazing for a 1968-71 solid state component. Each section is on a separate board that's removeable. You can almost see all the resistors (I assume that's what they are) in banks behind the tone and balance controls. It's easily the tidiest built component I own. It'll def need some TLC, in terms of cap replacement, but I thought I'd share:
