Sony TA-2000f preamp restoration,

Right now pushing them through a big ONK TX-8500MKII amp section into Advent NLA’s in the garage and it sounds pretty good. My first Sony foray. I have mostly Marantz separates in main system. Traded one of my 3250B preamps for the SA-2000F and I’m happy with the way this one sounds and it’s potential with a little TLC.

Had a little down time at the shop and cut out/mocked up a pvc sample of the case. Using the digital router is very nice. I’ll do a final mockup with some spare birch plywood I have before using the Veneered walnut.

It's not clear to me what state the work on the electronics is in, but my recent experience suggests another item for the "to-do" list: clean any residue from the plug-in boards that came from the foam on the board holder. The deteriorated foam is caustic enough to at least degrade the markings on resistors, so I reckon it is also caustic enough to damage PCB traces.
