Sony TC-255 and Sony TC-230

Yesterday i went to a Garage sale and picked up a Sony TC-230, Sony TC-255 and a Sony TA-F45 Integraded In Mint condition and 150 Reel to reel tapes for $30 CDN. cand anyone tell me what the Value of these decks was when new and what the value is now? Back then, where these machiens considered pretty good? thanks for your Time.

i am not going to be selling these decks. i want to use them as back up decks. are these the bottom end decks?

Low end. Some of the worst decks that Sony made.

I wouldn't want to run tape on them, as they have super low tension, and fast winding is sure to give you a super low tensioned pack. They also don't sound very good. if working, they will probably soon die, due to the rubber idlers deteriorating.

I know that the 250 retailed for $100 back in the day, whereas a decent deck was somewhere near 500 or so.
