Thanks. The heads on my 651 look pretty good and also sounds good. I've also read that the heads are an issue for this deck. I hope keeping them clean helps prolong the life and I'll stay on the lookout for replacement heads.
 
Vintage Tx:
Sweet smell can be the spark quenchers on the power-supply board is swelling, turn the deck off and unplug.

Just saw your note. What is a spark quencher? Power supply filter cap?
