Sony TC-K555?

Acetone. For general cleaning, including pinch roller, it is safe, if not used as everyday cleaning fluid. But be careful not to touch plastic parts, so the best is to disassemble deck first. And belts should be replaced and transport properly lubricated anyway.

I watched a youtube video recently that talks about cleaning the belts that have turned to goo off of the drive assembly. Anyone who has ever done this knows what I mean. The author uses WD40 to clean and then afterwards uses alcohol. I tried that on the Sansui SC-1330 I recently repaired and it worked very well. I have had to do this in the past, and it has always been very messy and disgusting. Nice to find a product that works so well to clean that stuff off.
