SONY TC-S7 motor noise all the time?

I picked up a SONY TC-S7 at a thriftstore, have been using it for half an hour at home or so.
It plays fine, will have to compare it to my Marantz and AKAI later, the SONY is very high pitched

Anyway, there seems to be a constant motor noise, even when not playing. Not sure if it is suppose to do this, here is a video:
